Surfcoat – Electroless Nickel Plating with PTFE
SURFCOAT is our propriety process of applying electroless nickel plating impregnated with PTFE (teflon). SURFCOAT is a reliable alternative to hard chromium plating in many wear applications. From textile equipment to electronics equipment, this coating gives unparalleled wear-ability and lubricity.
Nickel Plating with Teflon
Surface Coatings has been providing electroless nickel coatings for decades. We are able to apply electroless nickel to a wide range of substrates, including steel, hardened tool steel, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and various nickel alloys, and inconel. Our nickel platers have many years of experience dealing with all types of substrates and are accustomed to handling your most difficult nickel plating problems.
ENP is the deposit of a nickel-alloy coating by chemical reduction – without the electric current that’s used in electroplating processes. This offers excellent corrosion resistance to common corroding elements such as salt water, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hydrogen sulphide. Electroless Nickel coatings have a minimum hardness of about Rockwell c 63.
Features
PTFE is a nickel-phosphorous-polytetrafluoroethylene co-deposit on metal substrates. This process yields a surface with the engineering properties of nickel and the additional lubricity of PTFE. As with standard electroless nickel plating (ENP), the deposit occurs via an auto catalytic chemical reaction so that a reliable, repeatable coating of uniform thickness is generated.
